Mount Laurel Recreational Program
Recreational, or Rec baseball is the cornerstone of youth baseball. It is where local kids of all skill levels come together to learn fundamentals, build skills, and play in a friendly, yet competitive environment.
Rec baseball has two seasons each calendar year, Spring baseball and Fall baseball. Each season will have a separate registration period. Practices and games will be played in Mount Laurel at Hillside (Tball/Instructional), Triplex, or Quadplex fields. Games and practices occur during weeknights and weekends.
Spring baseball traditionally has more players registered which creates a more competitive season. Players must play Spring Rec Baseball to be eligible to play on a Mount Laurel Baseball Travel Team.
Fall ball is a great opportunity to hone skills in a structured baseball environment and is considered the start of the “new” baseball season. Which means, in most cases, players will play in the division they would be eligible for in the next Spring Baseball season.
Travel/Tournament Baseball (7u - 16u)
Travel or Tournament Baseball is a higher-level of baseball that requires a financial and time commitment from players and parents. Travel / Tournament teams do not have a registration for the team, but instead, players must try out. In order to be eligible for Mount Laurel Travel Baseball teams, the play must have participated in the current year Mount Laurel recreation baseball. Mount Laurel Baseball will try to field at least two travel teams for each age group if the player counts can support two teams. The teams will be determined on skill and are often referred to as an A (district) and B (tournament) teams.
Travel baseball practices are usually held during the week in Mount Laurel at Triplex or Quadplex fields but may occasionally be held at neighboring towns fields in the form of a scrimmage. Games are played based on tournament locations and schedules. Examples of tournaments travel teams have played include Cherry Hill, Maple Shade, Delran, and Marlton. Travel coaches will select tournament participation based on scheduling availability. Tournament season usually starts in early May and runs through July. Travel teams often schedule practices beyond tournament season to ensure skills stay sharp.
Mount Laurel Challenger Baseball
Mount Laurel Baseball’s Challenger Baseball Program is designed to provide children and young athletes with special needs the opportunity to enjoy the game of baseball in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. The program focuses on giving every participant a chance to learn, play, and grow at their own pace while experiencing the joy, camaraderie, and confidence that come from being part of a team.
Central to the Challenger experience is our Buddy Program—a volunteer opportunity where peers, teens, and community members are paired with Challenger players to provide encouragement, assistance, and friendship throughout practices and games. Buddies help athletes with hitting, fielding, running the bases, and, most importantly, having fun. This partnership not only supports player development but fosters meaningful bonds and a stronger, more connected community.
Whether a child is picking up a bat for the first time or looking to stay active in a welcoming space, Challenger Baseball ensures that every player is valued, celebrated, and empowered—both on and off the field.
Umpire Training Program
The Mount Laurel Baseball Umpire Training Program offers young adults an exciting opportunity to learn the craft of officiating while building confidence, leadership, and a deeper understanding of the game. Designed primarily for ages 15–18, the program also welcomes participants over 18 who complete the required background checks. Through structured instruction, on‑field mechanics training, and mentorship from experienced officials, new umpires gain the skills needed to manage games with professionalism, fairness, and enthusiasm. Whether participants are looking to earn extra income, stay connected to baseball, or take on a rewarding community role, this program provides a supportive pathway to becoming a trusted part of the Mount Laurel Baseball team.
